........................................................

Sa Grama formed in 1995 in the classrooms of the Pernambuco Conservatory of Music, the brainchild of professor and flautist Sérgio Campelo, who has been responsible for the group's arrangements and artistic direction ever since.
Sa Grama's first CD was released in August 1998, as part of a project by LG Artistic Projects and Productions and with the help of a municipal law in Recife (state capital of Pernambuco) aimed at encouraging culture.
Following the release of their first CD, the group never looked back. In November 1998, they won first prize in the music category of the Prêmio Aeso da Cultura Pernambucana and reached the final of the Prêmio Sharp 1998.
In Recife, in December 1998, the group recorded the original soundtrack for the mini-series O Auto da Compadecida, which was based on the work of Ariano Suassuna and shown on Rede Globo TV in January 1999. It was adapted for television by Guel Arraes, Adriana Falcão and João Falcão. The soundtrack featured songs especially composed for scenes by Sérgio Campelo. In addition to original music composed for the mini-series, ten songs from the first CD were adapted for the soundtrack.
The beginning of 1999 saw Sa Grama sign a deal with Kuarup, a distribution company from Rio de Janeiro, which distributed the group's music all over Brazil, including the second CD, "Engenho", released in December 1999. This was once again an LG Artistic Projects and Productions release, with the help of Recife's Municipal Department of Culture.
Despite having released only two CDs in Brazil, Sa Grama have been busy winning over new audiences. In the 1999 Pan-American Games held in Winnipeg, Canada, the Brazil synchronised swimming team performed its routine to Sa Grama's music.
During this time, the group has played theatres, cultural organisations, universities, libraries, schools and its music can be heard in the soundtracks of theatre plays, dance performances, commercial videos, short films, educational CD Roms, among others.

Br-Instrumental was nominated to Prémio Dardos by Márcio Proença, from Sombaratinho, by the blog Toque Musical and also by Francisco Escobar.
Thanks a lot for the nomination. Although the reason of this blog is the promotion/difusion of Brazilian instrumental music, that, unhappily, receives little attention from the media, it's always a good thing being recognized as a source of cultural interest.
The award is given as a "recognition of cultural, ethical, literary, and personal values transmitted in the form of creative and original writing".
The rules of this award are:
- Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person that has granted the award and his or her blog link;
- Pass the award to other 15 blogs that are worthy of this acknowledgment;
- Remember to contact each of them to let them know they have been chosen for this award.
Although it's hard to nominate only 15 blogs, there goes my list:
